Record #149243:
Sources and origins of aerosols reaching Antarctica as revealed by lead concentration profiles in shallow snow / C. Barbante, C. Turetta, A. Gambaro, G. Capodaglio, G. Scarponi.
Title: | Sources and origins of aerosols reaching Antarctica as revealed by lead concentration profiles in shallow snow / C. Barbante, C. Turetta, A. Gambaro, G. Capodaglio, G. Scarponi. |
Author(s): | Barbante, C. Turetta, C. Gambaro, A. Capodaglio, G. Scarponi, G. |
Date: | 1998. |
In: | Annals of Glaciology. (1998.), Vol. 27 (1998) |
Abstract: | Connects changes in lead concentration in Antarctic snow over past 30 years with decrease of lead emissions into atmosphere. Hypothesizes that under present climatic conditions, lead-enriched aerosols reaching Atlantic and Pacific sectors of East Antarctica originate mainly from South America and Australia. |
Notes: | Annals of Glaciology. Vol. 27 :674-678 (1998). International Symposium on Antarctica and Global Change: Interactions and Impacts, W.F. Budd (Editor), 13--18 July 1997, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. |
