Abstract: Investigation of recent climate change on eastern and western sides of Antarctic Peninsula and South Orkney Islands finds pronounced warming trend in all records, some of which began in 1945, others in 1971. Steady retreat and collapse of northern Larsen Ice Shelf coincides with this warming trend. Summer temperatures at northern end of Peninsula show significant warming trend.
