Areal distribution of the oxygen-isotope ratio in Antarctica: comparison of results based on field and remotely sensed data / H. Jay Zwally, Mario Giovinetto, Mike Craven, Vin Morgan, Ian Goodwin.

Title: Areal distribution of the oxygen-isotope ratio in Antarctica: comparison of results based on field and remotely sensed data / H. Jay Zwally, Mario Giovinetto, Mike Craven, Vin Morgan, Ian Goodwin.

Date: 1998.
In: Annals of Glaciology. (1998.), Vol. 27 (1998)
Abstract: Uses oxygen-isotope ratio data from 562 sites in Antarctica in model, and assesses regional variation at drainage-system scale by contrasting models for two physiographically distinct regions. Also determines entity-specific models using data subsets for conterminous grounded-ice and ice-shelf areas. Inversions of specific models produces two contoured distributions of ratio, one based on field data, other on remotely sensed data. Difference between these produces residuals that are small in interior area of ice sheet, large in several areas of mountain and coastal regions.
