Record #149216:

Drift patterns in an Antarctic channel from a quasi-geostrophic model with surface friction / Jörg-Olaf Wolff, John A.T. Bye.

Title: Drift patterns in an Antarctic channel from a quasi-geostrophic model with surface friction / Jörg-Olaf Wolff, John A.T. Bye.
Author(s): Wolff, Jörg-Olaf.
Bye, John A. T.
Date: 1998.
In: Annals of Glaciology. (1998.), Vol. 27 (1998)
Abstract: Model indicates similarities and differences expected in dispersion patterns for material in surface layer of ocean in Antarctic waters. Wind, current and wavefield influence circulation of flotsam and icebergs. Compares simulated patterns with historical data to show relative importance of synoptic variability in atmosphere and mesoscale eddies in ocean.
