Record #149215:
Antarctic sea-ice simulations with a coupled ocean/sea-ice model on a telescoped grid / Jörg-Olaf Wolff.
Title: | Antarctic sea-ice simulations with a coupled ocean/sea-ice model on a telescoped grid / Jörg-Olaf Wolff. |
Author(s): | Wolff, Jörg-Olaf. |
Date: | 1998. |
In: | Annals of Glaciology. (1998.), Vol. 27 (1998) |
Abstract: | Gives results from century-long integration of coupled ocean/sea-ice model covering Southern Hemisphere. Strong vertical mixing produces well-mixed, weakly stratified upper ocean in sea-ice zone, producing thin ice cover with multiple polynyas in southern winter. Time evolution of total ice area is close to estimates from satellite observations. |
Notes: | Annals of Glaciology. Vol. 27 :495-500 (1998). International Symposium on Antarctica and Global Change: Interactions and Impacts, W.F. Budd (Editor), 13--18 July 1997, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. |
