Record #149214:

Intra-annual variability of Antarctic precipitation from weather forecasts and high- resolution climate models / Christophe Genthon, Gerhard Krinner, Michael Déqué.

Title: Intra-annual variability of Antarctic precipitation from weather forecasts and high- resolution climate models / Christophe Genthon, Gerhard Krinner, Michael Déqué.
Author(s): Genthon, Christophe.
Krinner, Gerhard.
Déqué, Michael.
Date: 1998.
In: Annals of Glaciology. (1998.), Vol. 27 (1998)
Abstract: Presents and discusses intra-annual variability of Antarctic precipitation from European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasts short-term meteorological forecasts and from climate simulations by ARPÈGE and LMD-Zoom general circulation models. All models and forecasts show seasonality of precipitation is spatially very variable, and do not confirm precipitation is mostly maximum in winter over much of East Antarctica. Reliable observation of precipitation variability is lacking, and limits effectiveness of models.
