Freezing at the grounding line in East Antarctica: possible implications for sediment export efficiency / Roland Souchez, A. Khazendar, D. Ronveaux, J.-L. Tison.
Title: | Freezing at the grounding line in East Antarctica: possible implications for sediment export efficiency / Roland Souchez, A. Khazendar, D. Ronveaux, J.-L. Tison. |
Author(s): | Souchez, Roland. Khazendar, A. Ronveaux, D. Tison, J. -L. |
Date: | 1998. |
In: | Annals of Glaciology. (1998.), Vol. 27 (1998) |
Abstract: | Results of study of composition of ice formed at or near grounding line in Terra Nova Bay, Antarctica, indicate double-diffusion mechanism responsible for freezing at grounding line in areas sheltered from sub-ice cavity circulation. Explains implications for sediment export in polar oceans. |
Notes: | Annals of Glaciology. Vol. 27 :316-320 (1998). International Symposium on Antarctica and Global Change: Interactions and Impacts, W.F. Budd (Editor), 13--18 July 1997, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. |
