Record #148548:

Snowpack water-equivalent estimates from satellite and aircraft remote-sensing measurements of the Red River basin, north-central U.S.A / E.G. Josberger, N.M. Mognard, B. Lind, R. Matthews, T. Carroll.

Title: Snowpack water-equivalent estimates from satellite and aircraft remote-sensing measurements of the Red River basin, north-central U.S.A / E.G. Josberger, N.M. Mognard, B. Lind, R. Matthews, T. Carroll.

Date: 1998.
In: Annals of Glaciology. (1998.), Vol. 26 (1998)
Abstract: 92 flight lines 10 km long were flown by NOAA National Operational Hydrologic Remote Sensing Center (NOHRSC) over Red River basin, Dakota, providing unique dataset of snow water-equivalent determinations on spatial scales similar to satellite passive-microwave observations from Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) Special Sensor Microwave Imager (SSM/I) F-8 satellite. Passive-microwave response was similar to response predicted by Mie scattering theory. Artificial intelligence technique and general linear model explain significantly more of variance in datset.
