Abstract: Barnacle goose has shown largest change in breeding distribution during recent decades. Population has spread and expanded. Some pre-breeding staging areas have been found in western Svalbard and post-breeding concentrations over most coastal regions. Barnacles leave nesting islands and raise goslings in coastal tundra with many small lakes and lush vegetation. Breeding of other two species is also described.
