Uppruni jardhhitavatns á Íslandi. II Nidhurstödhur kenniefnarannsókna / Árný E. Sveinbjörnsdóttir, Stefán Arnórsson.

Title: Uppruni jardhhitavatns á Íslandi. II Nidhurstödhur kenniefnarannsókna / Árný E. Sveinbjörnsdóttir, Stefán Arnórsson.
Translated title: Origin of geothermal water in Iceland. II Results of trace element research.
Author(s): Sveinbjörnsdóttir, Árný E.
Arnórsson, Stefán.
Date: 1998.
Language: Icelandic.
In: Náttúrufraedingurinn. (1998.), Vol. 68(2) (1998)
Abstract: Continues article in 68(1). Recent research points to classification of groundwater flows, and hence origin of geothermal water, by means of deuterium content. Results are reinforced by measuring content of oxygen and hydrogen correlated with other trace elements, such as Cl and B. From these, general picture of heat flow in Iceland may be drawn. Greenland ice cores give good idea of δ¹⁸O density in Iceland over last 1000 years, with plausible extrapolation to that at settlement time.
