| Abstract: | Field research in lower Yana river region (north-east Sakha) in 1994 and 1995 has shown that in partially affected environment species diversity of small mammals completely destroyed communities (for example former gold mining sites) new original communities with independent population dynamics were formed. Unlike in areas with temperate climates, there were no signs of short-term self-recovery of damaged Arctic ecosystems. |
