Record #148032:

Ice-core record of atmospheric methane changes: relevance to climatic changes and possible gas hydrate sources / D. Raynaud, J. Chappellaz, T. Blünier.

Title: Ice-core record of atmospheric methane changes: relevance to climatic changes and possible gas hydrate sources / D. Raynaud, J. Chappellaz, T. Blünier.
Author(s): Raynaud, D.
Chappellaz, J.
Blünier, T.
Date: 1998.
Publisher: London: Geological Society
In: Gas hydrates : relevance to world margin stability and climatic change. (1998.),
Abstract: Study of ice cores over last 200 years shows 150% increase of CH₄ atmospheric mixing ratio since pre-industrial times, and correlation with climatic changes. Concludes available past ice-core record does not show evidence of catastrophic hydrate release (CHR), though further analysis is needed.
