Abstract: | Reports results of research carried out in Quebec Inuit school. Objectives were to: 1. identify spatio-geometrical concepts most evocative for Inuit; 2. improve understanding of metacognitive processes of Inuit teenagers when they seek to resolve problems linked to spatial concepts; identify sociocultural elements to be considered in didactic perspective; and to establish contextualized approach aiming at better mathematical inculturation. |
