Record #147502:

Angular and spectral characteristics of incoming and penetrated under-ice short wave radiation in the north part of the Barents Sea / Alexander P. Makshtas, Boris V. Ivanov, Reinert Korsnes, Jon Børre Ørbaek.

Title: Angular and spectral characteristics of incoming and penetrated under-ice short wave radiation in the north part of the Barents Sea / Alexander P. Makshtas, Boris V. Ivanov, Reinert Korsnes, Jon Børre Ørbaek.
Author(s): Makshtas, Alexander P.
Ivanov, Boris V.
Korsnes, Reinert.
Ørbaek, Jon Børre.
Date: 1998.
In: WCRP (Series). (1998.), Vol. 106(908) (1998)
Abstract: Experiments were carried out on RV "Lance" in 1995 and 1996 to measure solar radiation, hence effective atmospheric transparency and effective optical thickness, using surface albedo information from environment. Five types of surface with different spectral patterns were distinguished. Melt ponds acted like optical windows into atmosphere.
