Record #147466:

Experimental investigations of the weathering of suspended sediment by Alpine glacial meltwater / Giles H. Brown, M. Tranter, Martin J. Sharp.

Title: Experimental investigations of the weathering of suspended sediment by Alpine glacial meltwater / Giles H. Brown, M. Tranter, Martin J. Sharp.
Author(s): Brown, Giles H.
Tranter, M.
Sharp, Martin J.
Date: 1998.
Publisher: Chichester: Wiley
In: Glacier hydrology and hydrochemistry. (1998.),
Abstract: Demonstrates effects of water-to-rock ratio, particle size, crushing, repeated wetting and availability of protons on rate of solute acquisition with samples from Haut Glacier d'Arolla, Switzerland. Suggests rock flour is geochemically reactive and dilute quickflow waters acquire solute from suspended sediment.
