| Abstract: | This is field phase report from April-May 1997. Katabatic wind system over land and boundary layer fronts over Davis Strait were measured, using RA "Polar2" and five surface stations. Data consisted of turbulent momentum, sensible and latent heat fluxes, downward and upward solar and terrestrial radiation and surface temperature. Laser altimeter measured surface roughness. Front data were obtained during cold air outbreaks under conditions of low-level flow parallel to sea ice edge, katabatic data during different synoptic and surface conditions, including low-level jets. |
