Abstract: Using magnetic field, electric field and particle data from satellite, five large fluctuations were found in Jan. and Feb. 1990. They occurred around 65 deg. latitude with one deg. width. Field-aligned and upward flowing ions were seen. Ground magnetic field variations near satellite footprint show changes in westward electrojet. Authors conclude that events are caused by superposition of Alfvén waves. Energy source may be related to sub-storm current system.
