Record #147178:
Lateral asthenospheric viscosity variations and postglacial rebound: a case study for the Barents Sea / Georg Kaufmann, Patrick Wu.
Title: | Lateral asthenospheric viscosity variations and postglacial rebound: a case study for the Barents Sea / Georg Kaufmann, Patrick Wu. |
Author(s): | Kaufmann, Georg. Wu, Patrick. |
Date: | 1998. |
In: | Geophysical Research Letters. (1998.), Vol. 25(11) (1998) |
Abstract: | Problem was discretised by finite elements to compare laterally homogeneous or heterogeneous reference earth models. Results show that change in viscosity of c. three orders of magnitude influences predictions of land uplift by up to 10-20 m. Affects on present-day velocities and present-day gravity anomalies are quantified. |
Notes: | Geophysical Research Letters. Vol. 25(11) :1963-1966 (1998). |
Keywords: | 519.673 -- Modelling. 550.3 -- Geophysics. 550.312 -- Gravity and isostasy. 551.15 -- Asthenosphere. A -- Geophysical sciences (general). (*3) -- Arctic regions. (*686) -- Barents Sea. |
