Record #147090:

Charting of surface relief forms of Polar glacier with the example of the Hans Glacier / Leszek Kolondra, Marian Pulina.

Title: Charting of surface relief forms of Polar glacier with the example of the Hans Glacier / Leszek Kolondra, Marian Pulina.
Author(s): Kolondra, Leszek.
Pulina, Marian.
Date: 1998.
Publisher: Lublin, Poland: Maria Curie-Skłodowska University Press
In: IV Conference of Polish geomorphologists. II Relief, Quaternary palaeogeography and changes of the Polar environment. Polar session. (1998.),
Abstract: Presence of stable conditions over period of time is influenced by following most important factors: glacier bedding; dynamics of glacier movement and physical properties of the ice resulting from it; intensity of ablation and development of hydrological network on surface and its relation to outflow in and below glacier; deformation of glacier resulting from collapse of large voids. Forms are like karstic ones, and are found on "warm" glaciers near melting point. Detailed large map of Hans Glacier shows many such forms in paradigmatic manner.
