Abstract: Sediments were deposited in wide, shallow, wave, storm and tidally- influenced marine embayment at western end of Jurassic seaway between Greenland and Norway. Group is defined, and new lithostratigraphic scheme erected, on basis of recent sedimentological, biostratigraphic and sequence stratigraphic studies. Formation becomes Group, Members are raised to Formation status and Sortehat Formation is redefined. Neill Klinter Group is 450 m thick. Sources of sand and mud in group and sub-environments represented in succession are described.
