Record #147004:

Foraminiferal stratigraphy of raised marine deposits, representing isotope stage 5, Prins Karls Forland, western Svalbard / Helene Bergsten, Torbjörn Andersson, Ólafur Ingólfsson.

Title: Foraminiferal stratigraphy of raised marine deposits, representing isotope stage 5, Prins Karls Forland, western Svalbard / Helene Bergsten, Torbjörn Andersson, Ólafur Ingólfsson.
Author(s): Bergsten, Helene.
Andersson, Torbjörn.
Ingólfsson, Ólafur.
Date: 1998.
In: Polar Research. (1998.), Vol. 17(1) (1998)
Abstract: Two raised marine sequences, interpreted as deposited during part of isotope substages 5e (Eemian) and 5a, were studied for foraminifera content. Time constants are given by ¹⁴C ages, infrared stimulated luminescence age estimates and amino acid ratios in subfossil marine molluscs. Sequences are separated by diamicton, reflecting advance of local glaciers during stage 5. Marine environment is deduced.
