Abstract: Author looks at O. Brox's theory that North Norway is colony, focus of immigration, especially in 19th Cent., though mainly peasant or fishing one. Birth statistics show that usual reason for population growth was birth rate. Picture can be discerned, but not with Brox's simplicity.
