Constructing "Laestadianism": A case for Sami survival? / Henry Minde.

Title: Constructing "Laestadianism": A case for Sami survival? / Henry Minde.
Author(s): Minde, Henry.
Date: 1998.
In: Acta Borealia. (1998.), Vol. 15(1) (1998)
Abstract: Article studies relationship between Saami identity and Laestadianism. At end, author argues that three worlds should not be mixed: researcher's, preacher's and ethnopolitician's. Before that, he describes Laestadius's revival and its expansion along Saami herders' migration routes, its increasing dominance in some areas by Finns (Kven), later also by Norwegians, and its offshoots. Then he describes research into movement, and interpretations of its significance and non-religious influences.
