| Abstract: | Prey selection was studied in northern Finland during 1982-1993. 540 prey items were recorded from surroundings of 12 nests. For each species index was calculated from proportion in hawk's diet and proportion in land bird community. Prey vulnerability increased with body mass. Open habitat species were caught more frequently than forest species. |
