| Abstract: | Author is reindeer owner, vice-chairman of SSR and member of commission. She discusses place of Lapp Codicil in Saami rights, falling-off since and improvements in last 30 years. Ideally Sweden and Norway would be on same side of EU fence, but EU has given good financial support to reindeer herding. Rio de Janeiro Agenda 21 set terms for sustainable development. Structural crisis in herding in Sweden is similar to that in Finnmark, and neither is straightforward - there are many factors. |
