Abstract: Apmut Ivar Kuoljok, of Sirkas, has performed his joiks in Ájtte museum for public. He sings in Lule Saami, and has made CD "Ulldevis ja ietjá juojggusa", containing 17 joiks on different themes. He is inspired by space in mountains, but also in woodlands when there is good grazing, by parents, dreams, fire, love, travel etc. Five joiks on record were his own composition. He learnt singing from both parents. Joik was once frowned on by Church, but now some priests do it. He hopes that his record and appearances will encourage young to take up tradition.
