Record #146569:

The glacial geomorphology of central and northern Sweden / Clas Hättestrand.

Title: The glacial geomorphology of central and northern Sweden / Clas Hättestrand.
Author(s): Hättestrand, Clas.
Date: 1998.
In: SGU. Research Papers. Series Ca. (1998.), Ca 85 (1998)
Abstract: Glacial geomorphology of area mostly records decay of Fennoscandian ice sheet during Late Weichselian deglaciation. As ice margin retreated, glacial landforms were formed. De Geer moraines also occur in many parts of area below highest post-glacial shoreline. Within cold based zones, meltwater channels are superimposed on older landscapes. In eastern part of Scandinavian mountains, segments of large lateral moraines are found, marking upper surface of outlet glaciers draining eastwards. In central and western parts of chain, much of ice sheet seems to have been fully warm-based and scouring its bed.
