Abstract: AMS radio-carbon dates of bulk sediment samples were compared to AMS radio-carbon dates of terrestrial plant macrofossils from two neighbouring lakes in northern Sweden. Both successions cover period from last deglaciation to present. All bulk samples give older ages than those from fossils. Error in Lake Tibetanus (calcareous) ranges from 550 to 2700 years. In Lake Vuolep Njakajaure (mainly algal gyttja with low carbonate carbon content) error varies from 250 to 800 years.
