Record #146204:

Andréexpeditionen i vår tids ljus / Sven Lundström.

Title: Andréexpeditionen i vår tids ljus / Sven Lundström.
Translated title: The Andrée Expedition in the light of today.
Author(s): Lundström, Sven.
Date: 1998.
Language: Swedish.
In: Ymer. (1998.), Vol. 117 (1998)
Abstract: Curator of Andrée Museum, Gränna, describes public attitudes to expedition and its plight, which were maintained by devotion of Andrée's lady friend Gurli Linder until her death in 1947. Author believes that history must be continually scrutinised in light of new knowledge, new attitudes and priorities. Flight belonged in Sweden's Great Power day, but was also at threshhold of new ideas and techniques. In some ways, it could not be blamed for failing; there are similar enterprises in all ages. Museum is much visited; even late in afternoon, children stay awake and interested.
