Title: | Occurrence of the benthic trachymedusa Ptychogastria polaris Allman, 1878 (Cnidaria: Hydrozoa) off north-east Greenland and in the northern Barents Sea / Dorothea Stübing, Dieter Piepenburg. |
Author(s): | Stübing, Dorothea. Piepenburg, Dieter. |
Date: | 1998. |
In: | Polar Biology. (1998.), Vol. 19(3) (1998) |
Abstract: | Creature was identified in sea bed photographs from high-Arctic shelves and upper continental slopes. It was found to be common epifaunal element. All specimens either sat on or hovered just above sea bed. Evidence was that granularity of sea bed and potential food supply were important determinants of distribution. |
