| Abstract: | Couples one-dimensional, atmospheric boundary-layer model to thermodynamic ice model to estimate surface turbulent fluxes over thick sea ice. Aims at estimating turbulent surface heat and momentum fluxes using forcing parameters from atmospheric temperatures and radiative fluxes retrieved from TIROS-N Operational Vertical Sounder (TOVS) data. Shows feasibility of estimating surface turbulent fluxes using data from satellites, though many improvements need to be developed. |
