Fiskerpolitikken sett ut fra et lokalt ståsted / Terje Pedersen.

Title: Fiskerpolitikken sett ut fra et lokalt ståsted / Terje Pedersen.
Translated title: Fisheries politics seen from a local standpoint.
Author(s): Pedersen, Terje.
Date: 1997.
Publisher: Tromsø: Senter for samiske studier
Language: Norwegian.
In: Kunnskap, politikk og ressursforvaltning. (1997.),
Abstract: Paper considers fisheries in Tanafjord as joint livelihood. It gives historical account of changes in types of fish that were profitable, and of how some species ran out. Crisis in fjords was created by authorities. Small boats got no compensation. Professional fishermen were replaced by sport fishermen. Quotas for coastal and sea fisheries cut chances of hired work, and quotas set after seal invasion in 1977 hit boat fishermen. They lost faith in authorities, although Saami are traditionally law-abiding. Some rules are of EU daftness. Some practical suggestions offered would help living to survive.
