Abstract: | Article lists aspects of future framework for herding, including herding law and rights, resource development, income and employment, mineral prospecting and extraction, reallocation programme in inner Finnmark, use of snow scooters, compensation for predated deer, driving on herding areas, grazing convention with Sweden, fencing convention with Finland, development of pricing and markets for meat, and slaughter rules. To these may be added power generation, building, army training, tourism, shooting and fishing, and pollution. Subsidies are much higher for farming than for herding. |
