Record #144434:

Cultural space and ethnosemiotics of marginality / Nikolaj Terebikhin.

Title: Cultural space and ethnosemiotics of marginality / Nikolaj Terebikhin.
Author(s): Terebikhin, Nikolaj.
Date: 1997.
Publisher: Tromsø, Norway: Senter for samiske studier
In: Stat, religion, etnisitet. (1997.),
Abstract: Conceptual interpretations of properties of marginal zone between cultures are illustrated by example of Russian-Norwegian ethno-cultural border - Pomor culture. Reflectve properties of Pomor culture make it actual self- consciousness of Russian culture on whole, and mirror of Russian soul. History of establishment of Russian mode of life in North may be compared to eternal construction of Russia on charred ruins. Geographical archaisms "Rus" and "nemetskye zemli" remained in Pomor vocabulary until 20th Cent.
