Non-meteorological pulsation of discharges and floods in glacial rivers / Jan Leszkiewicz, Marian Pulina.

Title: Non-meteorological pulsation of discharges and floods in glacial rivers / Jan Leszkiewicz, Marian Pulina.
Author(s): Leszkiewicz, Jan.
Pulina, Marian.
Date: 1997.
Publisher: Lublin, Poland: Maria Curie-Skłodowska University Press
In: Polar session. Dynamics of polar environment, Lublin, December 1996. (1997.),
Abstract: Freshets and jökulhlaups are best known examples. Smaller type of hlaup, from sudden outflow of barrier glacier lakes, known in Greenland, Alaska and Pamir, is found in region of Gås Glacier. In 1991 it lasted 2-3 days. Siphonal cyclic regime has been seen in stream from Saga Glacier, with 40 sec. periodicity. Irregular siphonal regime was seen in bed of Bondhus Glacier, Norway.
