Record #144287:

Some selected problems of naledi on the glacier forefields of Kaffiøyra (NW Spitsbergen) / Marek Grześ, Krzysztof R. Lankauf.

Title: Some selected problems of naledi on the glacier forefields of Kaffiøyra (NW Spitsbergen) / Marek Grześ, Krzysztof R. Lankauf.
Author(s): Grześ, Marek.
Lankauf, Krzysztof R.
Date: 1997.
Publisher: Lublin, Poland: Maria Curie-Skłodowska University Press
In: Polar session. Dynamics of polar environment, Lublin, December 1996. (1997.),
Abstract: Winter outflows were observed from all six glaciers. Naledi occupied up to 20% of interior marginal zone. Spatial advance was helped by condition of water in snow cover. Local boulders on sandur are brought by outflow concentration in naledi-nival beds. Analogy to formation of ice-moraine ridges can be seen. Studies indicate no relation between naledi and glacier sizes; forefield conditions and snow cover are paramount. Some observers confuse strongly recrystallised snow with naledi.
