Record #144221:
Seismic facies and architecture of ice-contact submarine fans in high-relief fjords, Troms, northern Norway / Astrid Lyså, Tore O. Vorren.
Title: | Seismic facies and architecture of ice-contact submarine fans in high-relief fjords, Troms, northern Norway / Astrid Lyså, Tore O. Vorren. |
Author(s): | Lyså, Astrid. Vorren, Tore O. |
Date: | 1997. |
In: | Boreas. (1997.), Vol. 26(4) (1997) |
Abstract: | During Late Weichselian, large marginal moraines were deposited in Norwegian fjords. Troms ones are Skarpnes and Tromsø-Lyngen moraines. Seismic data reveal typical sediment thickness of 150-320 m. All ice-contact fans were formed under similar conditions, but differ widely in shape and seismic pattern. Former ice-front positions have been suggested and model has been presented for formation of fans according to local basin conditions. |
Notes: | Boreas. Vol. 26(4) :309-328 (1997). |
