| Abstract: | Issue: Nanortalik's 200 years. Article summarises phases of Inuit migration, relates them to Norsemen, Danish missions and Herrnhutters, and gives some reasons why few non-Norse remains have been found - area seemed empty when Norse arrived, and there have been few investigations apart from that of Therkel Mathiassen, on Uunartoq Island, and some very local ones by Vebaek of Benedictine monastery and by Hans Egede at Qaqortoq. |
