Abstract: Isabella Johansson is from Mertajärvi, but reindeer links are now weak. Siri Persson is from Jiingevaerie Saami settlement in Jämtland and still has family ties; she speaks South Saami, but only when sure of reply. Inez Fjällström is Sameting's economist and is still learning North Saami; Per Kvenangen is responsible for cultural questions; he has long been involved in Saami associations, owns deer and uses mother tongue as much as possible. Annette Wikström, from Svappavaara, works with Inez Fjällström and on accounts. Chief Lars-Nila Lasko has to try to forget his Saami political past.
