Abstract: Deity described by E.W. Hawkes as Torngarssoak in fact represents amalgamation of several different spiritual entities including Tuurngaatsuk. Latter shown here to resemble prominent and widespread Inuit deity, inuia (in-dweller) of the moon, figure previously scarcely acknowledged from Labrador.
