Abstract: Article describes original nature of Iceland pastures, introduction of new grass species, and percentages of plants in 1990-1993 on 193 farms and 1294 hayfields. It gives percentage of fields in which species is found and percentage of total area taken up by each species, with special graph for dicotelydons. Maps show distribution of two common species over island. Author comments on effects of new introductions.
