Abstract: Effect of egg volume on body mass, body composition and growth rate was studied at Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard. Hatchlings from larger eggs emerge with more yolk sac reserves, but embryos in small eggs seem to use yolk more, ending with more developed leg musculature.
