Abstract: Anamnestic information was obtained from at least 50 delivery patients in Hammerfest, Kirkenes and Tromsø hospitals and from 7 Russsian hospitals, for both Russian and indigenous patients. Metals measured were mercury, cadmium, lead, nickel, copper, zinc and selenium. Levels found were fairly uniformly safe, but Russian patients had higher nickel levels, independently of their proximity to refinery.
