Abstract: Basis of paper is thesis, including field study in Avanersuup (Thule) Kommune. Aim of paper is to find set of sustainability specifications to serve as selection criteria amongst various regional tourist project proposals. At present no significant degree of regional identity is visible, so tourists are left confused. "Travel with a purpose" is worldwide growth aspect, so far confined in Greenland to main air traffic hub at Kangerlussuaq .
