A diatom-based paleohydrological model for the Mackenzie Delta, Northwest Territories, Canada / Murray B. Hay, John P. Smol, Kathryn J. Pipke, Lance F.W. Lesack.
Title: | A diatom-based paleohydrological model for the Mackenzie Delta, Northwest Territories, Canada / Murray B. Hay, John P. Smol, Kathryn J. Pipke, Lance F.W. Lesack. |
Author(s): | Hay, Murray B. Smol, John P. Pipke, Kathryn J. Lesack, Lance F. W. |
Date: | 1997. |
In: | Arctic and Alpine Research. (1997.), Vol. 29(4) (1997) |
Abstract: | Uses canonical variate analysis to determine key gradients separating lakes in Mackenzie Delta. Canonical correspondence analysis then used to relate surface sediment diatom assemblages to variables accounting for significant amounts of variance within diatom taxa. Predictive models then developed through partial least squares regression to allow future inference of past river influence in delta lakes using fossil diatom assemblages preserved in lake sediments and to provide estimates of past Mackenzie River. |
