Abstract: Paper's purposes are to establish nature, origin and age of unconsolidate, organic-rich deposits - Klondike muck - commonly overlying auriferous gravel in region; and to discuss these data with reference to late Quaternary history of central Yukon and valley evolution in Klondike area.
