| Abstract: | Detailed maps were made on scale of 1:10 000 from aerial photographs taken in 1960. Mass balance was studied from 1964-68 and from 1991-95, and results were compared with some from Swedish Storglaciären, about 45 km to east. Net balance came out same for both. New map was made in 1993 to same scale. Glacier surface had dropped more than 60 m on tongue, but above equilibrium line thickness increased by 20 m. Total water loss is calculated. |
