Abstract: In winter 1995/96, stratospheric ozone layer over most of European Arctic was exposed to extreme cold and strong PSC's. Total ozone monitoring instruments at Tromsø and Andøya observed values up to 50% below long-term average. Deviation increased systematically with time of year, reaching maximum in March.
