| Abstract: | Finnish-Norwegian Frontier Water Commission ordered multi-purpose plan concerning whole river basin, with each country making plan for own area. Report deals with natural conditions, population and livelihoods of Finnish side of basin and its uses. Regulations and decisions concerning use are examined. Aim is to preserve strength of nature and culture of basin, to develop living conditions of population and their livelihood. Combined recommendations concern loading of watercourses, waste management, fishing and maintenance of fishing waters, tourism and recreational use, off-road traffic, reindeer husbandry and airborne deposits. |
