| Abstract: | In period thousands of children and young people went to Denmark for a time. Law of 1950 set up two streams, one to be more and more taught in Danish. It was soon seen that this stream would benefit from stay and education in Denmark. First 12 went in 1955. At first pupils were shared around in Denmark, but 4 boarding schools were set up and most of 771 pupils were in these in 1972/73, by then at State expense. Changes in government and educational theory ended this scheme and last special school closed in 1987. Author is researching into effects of scheme and new interest in similar one. |
